Management

At Solar Flare Farm, we take great pride in the health, resilience, and overall quality of our herd. We maintain these standards through annual blood testing, and as of 11/4/25, our herd has tested clean for CAE, CL, and Johne’s. Our goats are raised with a holistic approach. They are provided with high quality hay, sweet lix minerals, and we customize our own feed blend through a trusted local mill to meet their nutritional needs. Our herd enjoys access to a pasture planted specifically for goats through Nature Seed, and during select seasons, they receive natural enrichments such as pumpkin and pine.

As part of our holistic management philosophy, we do not vaccinate our herd. Instead, we focus on supporting strong natural immunity through nutrition and preventative care practices. We incorporate herbal deworming and fecal testing is conducted twice yearly through our veterinarian. Any treatments, if needed, are administered strictly in accordance with veterinary guidance. 

To support early health and development, all kids are started on a coccidia preventative at three weeks of age. We strive for a strong, healthy foundation start for every animal we raise.
